Murderers Row just got a whole lot funnier! Christine Pedi is joining the Tony-winning revival of Chicago as Matron "Mama" Morton, replacing current star Carol Woods.
From April 8 through June 16, Pedi will take over the role of the corrupt warden in the hit production of Chicago, the classic Kander and Ebb show about murderous women, sleazy lawyers and all the razzle-dazzle and fishnet stockings in between.
Pedi’s claim to fame on the New York stage is her work in the off-Broadway satirical revue series Forbidden Broadway, as well we her Drama Desk-nominated turn in Forbidden Hollywood. Her other off-Broadway credits include NEWSical the Musical and Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating & Marriage. Pedi appeared on Broadway in Talk Radio and Little Me. Her cabaret act Great Dames has played New York, London, South Africa and all over the United States. She is also known for her daily show on SiriusXM Radio and as the host of The Callback at 54 Below.
The revival of Chicago, now in its 17th year, currently stars Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Christopher Sieber as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
